Happyesteem Pte. Ltd. (“SchoolMum SG”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to your data.

  1. Personal Data We Collect

From All Users:

  • Name and display name — Account identification
  • Email address — Account login and communications
  • Profile photo (optional) — Profile display
  • Device information — App functionality and security

From Junior Mums (Participants):

  • Child’s name, school, grade — Matching with suitable Senior Mums
  • Booking history — Service delivery and records
  • Payment information — Processing transactions (via Stripe)
  • Session notes and messages — Service delivery

From Senior Mums (Coaches):

  • Child’s school and graduation year — Verification of coaching credentials
  • Academic achievements and documents — Verification process
  • MRT location — Matching with nearby participants
  • Languages spoken — Matching preferences
  • Bank account details — Disbursement of earnings
  • Session history and reviews — Profile display
  1. How We Use Your Personal Data

We collect and use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Account creation and management
  • Matching and booking
  • Payment processing
  • Communications
  • Verification
  • Safety and security
  • Legal compliance (PDPA, CPFTA, IRAS)
  • Service improvement

We will not use your personal data for any purpose not listed above without your prior consent.

  1. Sharing of Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

Service Providers:

  • Stripe — Payment processing
  • Supabase — Secure cloud database and authentication
  • Expo / Apple / Google — App delivery and push notifications

Between Users:
Your display name, profile photo, and coaching information will be visible to other users on the Platform. Your contact details (email, phone) are never shared with other users.

Legal Obligations:
We may disclose your data to government authorities or law enforcement agencies when required by Singapore law.

  1. Data Retention
  • Account information: Until account deletion + 1 year
  • Transaction records: 5 years (IRAS requirement)
  • Messages and session notes: 2 years after session date
  • Verification documents: 3 years after coach approval/rejection

After the retention period, data will be securely deleted or anonymised.

  1. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Row-level security (RLS) on our database
  • Secure authentication via Supabase
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only

As a Singapore resident, you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Withdrawal of consent — Withdraw consent for collection, use, or disclosure of your data
  • Portability — Request your data in a commonly used electronic format

Our app may use cookies and similar tracking technologies for:

SchoolMum SG is intended for use by adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at admin@schoolmum.sg.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via in-app notification. The updated policy will be effective from the date of publication.
